Technical Difficulties

My friends and I make movies. It's just one of the things we do. We believe that most of them are pretty amusing. So I decided to them up here. Updates are a bit sporadic and rather infrequent, but we're working on that. The most recent additions will appear at the top. So, go, enjoy them. NOW! AIM Fiction

Another Media Studio assignment, this time it was to film a conversation. I didn't like any of the scripts I had thrown together quickly, so some last minute brainstorming brought up the idea of redoing a famous conversation as something else. We eventually decided to do a memorable scene from Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" as an AIM conversation. 2 hours later, filming was done, and the editting was completed a few days later. Here's the final product. The shots try to mimic the original scene as much as possible, but obviously fail to at some unavoidable points. The swords... well, it's hard to get props that late at night. The Showdown

An assignment for my Media Studio:A/V class instructed us to make a movie using only in-camera editting. That means you have to choose every shot very carefully and get them all correct in exact succession. This was filmed in about fifteen minutes, late at night, and the editting and mastering went even later. In anycase, I am, for the most part, pretty happy with how it turned out. I did make some small cuts, but for the most part, the video is true to the assignment. Battle Without Honor or Humanity

This was my first video project ever. Our gang was basically in love with Soul Calibur 2 from the moment it came and sunk many an hour that should've been spent doing homework on mastering combos and chain throws. Also, it was around the same time that Kill Bill Vol. 1 came out. I don't think that anyone who sees that movie can watch the part where O-ren Iishi and the Crazy 88s do a power walk to this song and not say "Damn, that was cool". So, when I felt like making a music video, this seemed to be the obvious combination. With help and guidance from my film-maker buddies, Ollie and Mike, this was born. Looking back, I can see that I didn't know a whole load of editting techniques and did a rather crappy job on the compression, but I still think it's a good vid.
